Being a global company, collaboration with our overseas counterparts is key to our success and efficiency. To support our collaborative way of working in 2015 we launched DK’s Exchange Programme. This scheme is designed especially for staff who do not normally get the opportunity to travel to develop their learning and share their experiences globally. These popular placements offer insights into the how each territory operates and build important relationships, proving to be a huge success.

“It seems impossible to summarize my DK Exchange Program experience into a few short sentences, but the word that comes to mind when I think about the week is "invaluable." As someone who is fairly new to the DK team, this opportunity came at a perfect time during my career here. Though it seems the simplest, my number one takeaway is the relationships I was able to form while working among (and meeting!) my UK colleagues for the first time; this will certainly open the lines of communication and collaboration moving forward, allowing for more success on both sides of the pond.”

“I was delighted to be invited to spend a week in the New York office. It was DK home away from home and from day one I felt part of the team there. Attending key Sales, Marketing and Operations meetings gave a great insight into how things work and the role each person plays. The shopping trip to New Jersey was a highlight - it was great to see all the special sales products on the shelves, tables and racks of every store. It also gave us the opportunity to ask Sales and Production about their customers and how the US market works in more detail. I loved it!”

“It was an overwhelming experience, a very, very special week, a highlight in my career, and really difficult to beat in the future. The five days were packed with more than 20 extremely inspiring, illuminating and productive meetings. Every single conversation had its unique facets offering invaluable insights. With the experience I’ve gained, I now have a much clearer and detailed view on global decisions, the daily practice at the company’s heart – the UK office – and the collaboration with the colleagues from Delhi and other divisions worldwide. DK is a true business giant!
The amount of information I took in during that intense week was immense, and
