Tourism on Tatooine: Imagined Star Wars™ Travel Reviews

Ever wished you could hop on a starship and take a trip to the world of Star Wars™? Enjoy a Hoth holiday, or a city break to Coruscant? You may have to keep daydreaming on this one. In the meantime, though, we’ve imagined what the travel reviews might be like for some famous Star Wars locations. Now these are exotic vacations.

1. Naboo

4 ½ stars out of 5

A very relaxing holiday. Tranquil and with gorgeous views in The Lake Country. We had a lovely picnic by the waterfalls, though a grazing shaak ate some of our sandwiches, and Terry got his new shoes wet trying to take a photo of a meadow.

He later said that seeing the villa Varykino made him feel like a Jedi. He did not look like a Jedi. He looked like a man with wet shoes.

2. Chalmun’s Cantina, Mos Eisley

3 stars out of 5

A very interesting evening. Enjoyed some unusual cocktails and live music. Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes are excellent musicians once you get used to their strangely-shaped heads.

We did get the feeling that there was some shady business going on there. Saw a fight between a man with a snout and a very angry-looking cyclops which was really exciting. Terry fell through a trap door and then lost a lot of money in a bet with a moisture farmer, but that’s his own fault. An excellent place to mingle with the locals.

3. Watto’s junkshop

1 star out of 5

Very strange second-hand shop – not at all what we expected. Run by a scary, small man with a strange nose and wings. Terrible customer service and the podracer engine plating that we bought as a souvenir fell apart immediately. Feel like we got a bad deal. Also, felt bad for the droids working there. Overall, uncomfortable (and smelly) experience.

4. Echo Base

4 ½ stars out of 5

We knew that this was “off the beaten track”, but we didn’t realize exactly how remote it was, until Terry turned blue on the way there, and we were nearly killed by a tunnel collapse.

In the end, though, a really fun time. Explored the glacial caverns and went for a ride in a snowspeeder. We also built a snow fort at one point but a very kind Rebel engineer asked us to take it apart, as it was in the way of a Gallofree Yards transport.

Would recommend highly if you’re up for some thrills, but definitely pack some extra gloves and scarves and be ready to lend a helping hand.

Terry is no longer blue.
