Describe your work in five words:

Writer and design consultant

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Your favorite character in Black Panther:

When did you first discover the Black Panther comics and what drew you to the comic?

I bought the debut appearance (Fantastic Four #52) off the shelf in 1966 because I was a huge Jack Kirby fan, and was stuck with T’Challa because he seemed exotic and mysterious.

What is one thing about Black Panther that you think sets him apart from the other Marvel Super Heroes?

He’s the most strategic and intellectual fighter in the MU – even greater than Captain America and Mr. Fantastic.

What message do you think the Black Panther comics gave readers when it debuted in the 1960s with the first black superhero in a mostly white genre?

He must have been an instant rallying point and role model for every non-white reader who finally had a champion like themselves, and showed everybody that capability and heroism has no color bar.

What inspired you to become a writer?

My favorite stories always ended too soon and I wanted more. If I couldn’t find more, I could always make my own...

What's one real life lesson you learned from the world of comics?

Everything changes.
