60 Seconds with the authors of The Star Wars Book

We quickly catch up with Pablo Hidalgo, Cole Horton, and Dan Zehr

We caught up with The Star Wars™ Book authors Pablo Hidalgo, Cole Horton, and Dan Zehr to ask about their Star Wars™ opinions and their writing styles. Get to know them better with this rapid 60-second interview.

Who is your favorite underrated Star Wars character?

Cole Horton (CH): Mon Mothma. Don’t let her limited screen time fool you: Her leadership and ideology are at the heart of the Rebellion’s victory…and perhaps leave the galaxy unprepared for the rise of the First Order decades later!

Dan Zehr (DZ): Hondo Ohnaka!

Pablo Hidalgo (PH): Wat Tambor.

What’s your favorite writing snack?

CH: Cheez-Its and green tea.

DZ: Peanut Butter Monster Mix or Cheez-Its.

PH: Trail mix.

Thoughts on the Child?

CH: I hope I look that good at 50.

DZ: He’s adorable, enigmatic, and in many ways, a typical child, except for that hand-thingy he does.

PH: Little bundle of secrets.

Do you work best in the morning or evening?

CH: Morning, but we had a baby just before I started writing The Star Wars Book, which forced me to write more in the evening.

DZ: Mornings, but I can do either when inspiration or a deadline strike.

PH: Morning.

Would you rather: marathon the original trilogy, the prequels or the sequels?

CH: It’s not a marathon unless you do EVERY movie.

DZ: While I love them all, I’m an original trilogy person at heart.

PH: Original trilogy.

Most interesting piece of trivia you came across while writing The Star Wars Book?

DZ: So many to choose from, but probably the timeline entry that details how long Luke trained Ben Solo.

PH: That a strandcast is in fact not a type of electric guitar.

Favorite Star Wars creature or droid?

CH: R2-D2 remains the galaxy’s greatest hero.

DZ: For a creature, the krayt dragon, but for a droid, it’s got to be Chopper.

PH: R2-D2, by far.

What planet in the Star Wars galaxy would you choose to live on, if you could?

CH: Alderaan. Wonderful culture, great leadership, and beautiful landscapes. Just be sure to leave before the Death Star obliterates it.

DZ: If the Empire is gone, I’d say Scarif.

PH: Coruscant. Bright lights, big city.
