1. The North Pole lies in the heart of the Arctic Ocean, and its position is marked with a sign.

2. A Lion’s Mane Jellyfish is one of the biggest jellyfish in the ocean and can have venomous tentacles that are more than 98 feet long!

3. A great white shark has 300 teeth, and since they are always being replaced, one shark may go through 30,000 teeth in its lifetime.

4. A starfish has no brain, but it does have simple eyes at the end of each arm.

5. The longest natural beach lies on the coast of southern Bangladesh. Known as Cox’s Bazar, it extends for 75 miles.

6. Male emperor penguins go without food for up to 115 days while they are incubating their eggs. To keep the egg from touching the freezing ice, emperor penguins support the egg on their big feet.

7. The Pacific Ocean covers almost half the planet.

8. The biggest coral reef in the world is the Great Barrier Reef. Off the coast of Australia, it is a vast complex of 3,000 coral reefs linked together for 1,430 miles, and it is the largest structure on earth built by living things.

9. The giant squid has the biggest eyes of any known animal. They can be up to 11 inches across, making them bigger than a football!

10. The blue whale is the biggest animal on the planet, growing up to 102 feet long and weighing up to 220 tons.
