Reading inspires, educates and entertains. DK are passionate about reading and want to do all we can to nurture enthusiastic readers. Every year we dedicate time and resources to local charities and communities, supporting causes that are close to our hearts.
Every year DK donates books to charity, as auction items, prizes, donations and as part of literacy schemes.
DK always supports staff for taking part in fundraising efforts and we have a volunteering policy, which gives staff the opportunity to participate in a range of activities, including helping children to learn to read at local schools.
The Connection at St Martin’s is DK UK’s charity partner of the year for 2019.
The Connection helps over 4,000 homeless people every year to move away from and stay off the streets of London. It does this by tackling the underlying causes of rough sleeping as well as offering practical help. It provides tailored employment support and training, volunteering opportunities and housing advice.
The charity also provides a variety of specialist services to help clients cope with the physical and psychological effects of being homeless, empowering them to develop their strengths and ability to change their own future and recover from homelessness – working with clients, not for them.
